“Keep the Trade Alive” is the tag line used by LA denim label, Rogue Territory. It speaks for itself. Karl Thoennessen started his brand back in 2007 making custom jeans out of the American Rags “World Denim Bar.” Having clients such as Kanye West and Lebron James on his contacts list, Thoennessen has taken the next natural progression for his brand by creating a seasonal collection to sit along side his hand made custom jeans. Featuring three denim cuts plus two nicely cut worker trouser Rogue Territories attention to detail is evident in every piece. The work shirts in three different fabrics are a must have. Be sure to get on board at the start of something really special.
Skater Tommy Guerrero has teamed up with Levi’s for a two piece collection. With a Mexican fabric inspiration Guerrero has matched the shirt with the jeans by inserting the fabric into the back yoke. More pictures to come.
Advertising firm Wieden + Kennedy sets a pioneering tone for Levi’s “Go Forth” campaign with help from American poet Walt Whitman. The latest video is yet another piece required for the $100k buried in the outback of America somewhere. I wish I was living in America right now.
WSJ has published an article titled “The Relentless Rise of Power Jeans.” Christina Binkley digs deep into the current power jeans trend that politicians and executives are embracing at the moment. Although in our eyes if you need to take fashion advice from someone at the Wall Street Journal its kind of like taking Rap lessons from K-FED, none the less check it out and you will be power dressing in no time.

Our friends over at Inventory have spotted a nice one rinse selvage denim jean from Engineered Garments that you can grab from The Bureau in Belfast. The shape of the jean is based on the famous 1947 501 jean and features some nice broken denim which, after fading, will give you those beautiful horizontal lines that look very reminiscent to the denim of that day. You can get a pair for around £140.
Acne have just released a military style denim jacket which you can now purchase from their online store. Featuring a detachable collar with lining throughout, the fit on the jacket is quite narrow and has an adjustable waist. They are available for around $440 US.
Approximately 23.8 billion pounds of clothing and textiles end up in landfill each year. In order to make a dent in that waste pile, Levi Strauss & Co is partnering with Goodwill to create special care tags that not only tell consumers how to wash the garments, but also where to take them when they’re done with them. It’s a fashion industry first.
Encouraging people to donate their old jeans and other clothing items does more than just divert waste from overflowing landfills.
